In the course of time there has been repeated artistic dealing wlth prototypes, pictograms and signs, despite a similar objective these were always dealt with on an individual basis. Gerhard Almbauer´s works analyse and form as the positioning of one´s own identity, his artistic vocabulary is characterized by numerous journeys to mystic regions and magical places; he draws on this, absorbs the particular beauty of the landscape, explains the mystically familiar, creates new worlds and beings that provoke the viewer. The works move back and forth in dialectics of painting and literature, huge earth formations with their differing colours and conditioning can be understood as synthesis of both disciplines.

Since 1989 reaching of painting seminars in Europe and Asia. For both 2001 and 2003 state award of “most beautiful art book of Liechtenstein” for the books “Terra Mystica” and “Imago”.
